Matt Adams

With a career spanning more than three decades, Matt Adams is a veteran stylist known for luxury hair with an upscale, beach-inspired feel. Today he works at Stainless Salon in Encinitas, where he specializes in natural-looking color, sun-kissed highlights, and effortless cuts that put beauty over trend.

A graduate of the Vidal Sassoon Academy (1985), Matt began his career assisting at Trampp in Beverly Hills and, at just 22, opened his own high-end signature salon. He went on to co-own Parker Adams Beverly Hills and later opened Matt Adams Salon in Sunset Plaza, West Hollywood. Over the years, he has worked with celebrities including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alyssa Milano, Sophia Bush, Katherine Heigl, Pamela Anderson, Marcia Cross, Keri Russell, Kathy Griffin, and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Matt’s résumé also spans the fashion world. He served as key hairstylist for runway shows including Valentino, Missoni, Pucci, Blumarine, Patricia Field, and Rock & Republic, and worked backstage for Armani, Burberry, Diane von Furstenberg, and Victoria’s Secret. His work has appeared in Allure, Lucky, People, and Parade, and in advertising campaigns for Aveda, Smashbox, Pantene (Japan), Payless, and Toyota. He has also styled for TV makeover shows and national programs on MTV and NBC.

A dedicated educator, Matt was a Global Educator for Aveda, taught seminars for Fred Segal Beauty, created the training program for Fred Segal Beauty, and led the haircutting program for Sally Hershberger. He continues to share his craft through his own seminars and his YouTube channel, Matt Adams Hair.

Having spent years translating couture runway looks into wearable styles, Matt now brings that same precision to a relaxed coastal setting. His approach is simple: color and cuts that look natural, feel luxurious, and let each client’s personality shine through.
